Girlstories Leadership Theatre Performs to Residents at The Ella at ENCORE!

This past Friday, 15 girls from Tampa’s Girlstories Leadership Theatre performed a dress rehearsal of their upcoming show “Dreams So Bright” to residents of Ella – the new home to 160 active seniors in Downtown Tampa’s mixed-use development, Encore. The girls, whose ages range from 11 to 13, were excited to perform this compilation of true stories from their lives to the friendly, supportive audience of residents.

Think a diversity of workers scurrying along exercising their thumbs on their smart phones — some with sleeves rolled up; others with collars buttoned down. Central Tampa is undergoing a long overdue revitalization that will boost small businesses and lift our neighborhoods and downtown.

Many of us remember Central Park Village on the north side of downtown: old, dilapidated public housing that scared off investment in the area. Crime was a problem.
