TAMPA — Music resonates from a low-lying plot of land on the fringe of downtown, once known as the Scrub.

Earlier this week it was a trumpeter, playing as guests toured apartments at a grand opening for The Trio, the second project completed within ENCORE!.

Mechelle Arnold appreciated ample closets as she explored a two-bedroom unit with a view of the city skyline she called beautiful.

The Trio At ENCORE! Tampa Welcomes First Residents

Even as construction continues on The Reed, and The Tempo waits in the wings for its start date, the ENCORE!® Tampa community is celebrating its second multifamily apartment complex — The Trio.

The Tampa Housing Authority will hold a grand opening today (July 15, 2014) at 2:30 p.m. at 1101 Ray Charles Blvd., with live jazz and tours of The Trio.

The 141-unit apartment building joins The Ella, 161 senior apartments that opened in 2012 and are fully occupied.

Artist Natalie Blake has created “The Gift of Gathering Remembrances,” the first major installation of public art within downtown Tampa’s ENCORE!® neighborhood. The series of three ceramic tile murals tells a story of the formation, change and growth of a historically rich Tampa neighborhood: Central Avenue. In each panel, the artist uses the sun as its origin, to identify each era that is depicted.
