Growth of ENCORE! Tampa continues with Tempo apartments


The Tampa Housing Authority’s redevelopment of public housing sites into modern mixed-use, mixed-income developments continues with The Tempo at ENCORE!

The first residents moved into the seven-story, 203-unit, mixed-income development late last year, after a series of delays due to contractor issues. The Housing Authority will formally mark the completion of the latest piece in the ENCORE Tampa! apartments with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on March 15.

The Tempo opens, brings more affordable apartments to Downtown Tampa


A new note has been added to ENCORE! Tampa, an affordable housing development in downtown Tampa.

The Tempo, a seven-story building featuring 203 units of one, two, three, and four-bedroom apartments, is set to start moving residents in on the first few floors this month as construction on the remainder of the building is completed.

The Tempo features affordable and market-rate units with an average rent of $874 throughout the building.

After false starts, grocery store, hotel deals signed for downtown Tampa housing complex


TAMPA, Fla. — An “urban” grocery store and a major hotel chain could soon be in the works for the ENCORE! [neighborhood] on the edge of downtown Tampa.

St. Petersburg firm J Square Developers has signed a $2.2 million contract to buy a parcel from the Tampa Housing Authority to build a midsized grocery store at ENCORE! The housing agency also has a California developer moving ahead with a $4.3 million deal to build a flagship boutique hotel.
