U.S. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Dr. Ben Carson says he supports the idea of a national holiday marking “Juneteenth.”
To mark the occasion, he visited a historic, century-old African American church that is set to become a museum. The church is located at ENCORE!, itself the site of a formerly segregated neighborhood in downtown Tampa. He says race relations have improved tremendously in his lifetime and thinks people just aren’t talking about things that are positive.
